The Rotary Club of Jacksonville has announced the summer 2024 schedule for the Big Eli Ferris Wheel in Community Park.
With the support of local companies and organizations, the club provides free rides to the community on every summer Sunday. Rotary Club President Jenna Tucker said, “We want to thank our sponsors whose financial support makes it possible for all Ferris Wheel rides to be free for the public. We deeply appreciate their generosity and support for our club’s continued community service.”
Beginning on June 2, the Wheel will operate each Sunday (weather permitting) thru September, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. and will end the season with a Halloween Squeal at the Wheel event from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Halloween night. All Ferris Wheel riders must be no less than 36 inches tall. All children who are 48 inches tall or less must ride with an adult.
This month the wheel will be running during the Summerfest and Health Fair on Wednesday, June 12, and again during the annual Jacksonville Juneteenth Celebration on Wednesday, June 19.
The Ferris Wheel may be rented for private parties and corporate events. The rental fee for nonprofit organizations and churches is $100 for a two-hour rental. For-profit entities and individuals will be charged $200 for a two-hour rental or $125 for a one-hour rental.
