Sophia Withee was chosen as the October 2026 Vocational Student of the Month by The Rotary Club of Jacksonville.

Withee is a senior at Jacksonville High School in Jacksonville, Illinois. At 17, she is already putting her interest in nursing into practice. After earning her certification as a nursing assistant at Lincoln Land Community College, she began working at Prairie Village Healthcare Center. She plans to study nursing at a four-year university and become a nurse practitioner.

Sophia balances her healthcare work with volleyball and a strong academic record, including high honors and membership in the National Honor Society and National English Honor Society.

Jacksonville Rotarians recognized Sophia at their Friday, October 23, meeting.

Sophia will be among area Students of the Month award winners from whom The Rotary Club of Jacksonville will select a Vocational Student of the Year. That award carries a scholarship prize of $1,000.

The club congratulates Sophia and wishes her continued success.
