INTERACT CLUB
Interact is a service club for youth ages 12 to 18 who want to connect with other young people and have fun while serving their communities and learning about the world. Clubs, which meet at least twice a month, are sponsored by local Rotary clubs. Interact clubs are required to organize two projects every year, one that helps their school or community and one that promotes international understanding. Members of sponsor Rotary clubs mentor Interactors as they carry out the projects and develop leadership skills. The Jacksonville Noon Rotary club sponsors the local Interact Club here in town. The Jacksonville Interact Club strives to go above and beyond and do at least five service projects a year. For the 2016 semester the club sold Yuda Bands to help fight poverty through education, they helped Rotary wrap Christmas presents for the troops overseas, spoke at Rotary District Assembly, and are helping with Meals on Wheels. The club meets the first and third Monday of each month during the year at 6pm at the Soap Company Coffee House.
ROTARACT CLUB
The local Rotaract Club provides leadership and networking opportunities for college age students. This Club is designed to operate in a similar fashion as The Rotary Club of Jacksonville does: hosting speakers, arranging social events, and organizing service projects. The club is sponsored by Illinois College and meets in Kirby Hall at 9pm the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Recent projects include: Town Brook clean up, feeding the hungry at the Salvation Army, speaking at the Rotary District Conference, and helping send Rotary care packages to active military overseas. Much more is planned. Rotaract members can seek full Rotary Club membership as they move thru their education.
RYLA
RYLA (Rotary Youth leadership Association) is a once-a-year camp where college students mentor high school students thru a weekend of fun, team building and leadership experiences.
