
The Rotary Club of Jacksonville recently recognized Dominick York as the recipient of the Rotary Vocational Student of the Month Award for February. Jenna Tucker, Past President of the Rotary Club, presented the award at the club’s February 20 meeting.
Reg Ankrom, Chair of the Rotary Vocational Committee, said, “Our Vocational Student of the Month initiative focuses on students who deserve and need encouragement and affirmation. When we recognize students pursuing vocational paths, we are telling them ‘you are an important part of the future and we need you.’”
Danielle Evans, Routt Catholic High School Principal, also spoke during the presentation. She spoke about why Dominick was selected as an outstanding student. He is a senior at Routt Catholic High School, and is planning to attend Lincoln Land Community College, to prepare for a career in truck driving with a CDL license. His parents are Scott York and Michelle York.
