The Jacksonville Rotary, Rotaract, and Interact Clubs are collaborating with the Jacksonville School District to improve educational services for K-6 children on the autism spectrum.Today Rotary members and Eisenhower School educators cleaned equipment and painted two classrooms. The school district will install new carpeting next week. Then, in early January, Rotary will reassemble the classroom furniture and and install new equipment that meets the learning needs of autistic children.

This educational project aligns with Rotary’s area of focus “Basic education and Literacy,” by assisting special needs students to meet some of their educational goals via the use of sensory equipment.

We want to thank Rotary District 6460 for the $2,000 District Grant, which is being matched with $2,000 raised by the Jacksonville Rotary, Interact and Rotaract Clubs. It’s great to see Rotary making a difference in the Jacksonville community!
