Club Inducts New Leaders for 2022-23

The Rotary Club of Jacksonville recently inducted new officers and directors for the 2022-23 year. Lisa Kluge will serve as president, assisted by president-elect Jenna Tucker, secretary Kathryn Grady, co-treasurers Joe Kaufmann and Tom Luber, and board of directors Samantha Boston, Kelly Pool, April Clark, Lisa Haley, Lori Hartz, Nick Zuhone, Joan McQuillan, and Daniel Lepper.

At the meeting, Kluge presented outgoing president Cathy Jo Littleton-Wahl with a thank-you gift from the club. Kluge spoke of her expectations for how Rotary will continue to benefit the Jacksonville community through service work and through fundraising that allows the club to donate to causes important to the community.

Kluge said, “Our Club donated in the past year to Prairieland United Way, NAACP, Jacksonville Promise, Jacksonville Main Street, Governor Duncan Association, Jacksonville Soccer Association, South School, and other charitable and educational purposes. Our members were involved in community cleanup efforts and youth leadership initiatives.”

Kluge continued, “Our newest program is the Rotary Green initiative, which focuses on environmental stewardship. This program offers the opportunity for anyone to pay tribute to a friend, loved one, or organization by paying for a tree to be planted in the Jacksonville area. We work directly with City of Jacksonville and Morgan County staff to determine the locations for trees to be planted. Donors can select from a list of tree options.”

Kluge invites the public to the Club’s Oktoberfest fundraiser, with will take place on Saturday, September 17, 2022, from 12 noon to 7 p.m. at the Morgan County Fairgrounds. The event features German food, beer, wine, games, and music. Tickets ($4.00 in advance or $5.00 at the gate) are available from any Rotarian, or at County Market in Jacksonville.
