Club Provides Books to South School

The Jacksonville Rotary Club recently conducted a program that provided four books to each second grade student at South Elementary School in Jacksonville. The program was made possible by a $2,162 Rotary District 6460 Literacy Grant. As the students received their books, guest readers presented the book by reading it aloud and answering students’ questions. Guest readers were exchange student Tudor Balint and Rotarians Sharon Zuiderveld, Cathy Jo Littleton-Wahl, Karen Walker, Tony Williams, Jenna Tucker and Kaylob Tang. Thank you to Rotary District 6460, and to EVERYONE who purchased a baseball ticket from Rotary last summer. Your baseball ticket purchases helped to fund Literacy Grants that benefit children throughout our region. And thank you to our partner-educators at South School. Together, we Connect, Inspire, and Learn!
