Rotary inducts Albers as president

Jacksonville Rotary has inducted new officers and directors for the year.

Craig Albers will serve as president, assisted by president-elect Cathy Jo Littleton-Wahl. Lynne Sheaff will be secretary and Kelly Staake is treasurer.

The board of directors consists of Gina Hayes, Joe Horabik, Trista Moody, Sandy Sanders, Chuck Sheaff, Kaylob Tang, Judy Tighe and Jenna Tucker.

Albers presented outgoing President Brittany Henry with a gift from the club. Henry spoke about the club’s past year and her appreciation for its community service projects, fundraising and response to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She gave special recognition to the Rotarians who organized and conducted online meetings during the shutdown.

Albers spoke of his expectations for how Rotary will continue to benefit the community through service projects, including the Fourth of July parade, which has been rescheduled for Sept. 5.

“This coming year will be a new experience for us all and I am confident this group of dedicated Rotarians will be up for the challenge,” Albers told the group.
